Ho Chi Minh City, October 26, 2023, TMA Technology Group coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Consulting and Support Center (DXCenter) along with other media partners to organize the conference "Application Using Wi-Fi HaLow in IoT" with leading experts in Wi-Fi technology from Australia and Taiwan at Quang Trung Software Park.

What is WiFi Halow?

WiFi Halow is the designation for approved products using IEEE 802.11ah technology, which enhances Wi-Fi by using a frequency spectrum that is lower than 1 gigahertz (GHz) to provide connectivity with a longer range and less power.

WiFi Halow is a new wireless communications standard specifically designed to solve the range and power consumption problems of IoT. Halow WiFi's range is much farther than traditional WiFi technology, up to 10 times longer, and it provides a stronger connection in challenging environments with the ability to penetrate walls or obstacles.

Accordingly, Wifi Halow is a new radio communication standard (IEEE 802.11ah standard) specifically designed to solve the broadcast range and energy consumption problems of IoT. Halow Wifi's broadcast range provides connectivity 10 times farther than traditional Wifi standards. At the same time, we are providing stronger connections in challenging environments with the ability to penetrate walls or obstacles.

WiFi Halow technology allows devices to connect directly to the Internet at a distance of more than 1km from the access point, making it suitable for many IoT applications for smart cities that Ho Chi Minh City is aiming for.
