Infotainment HMI System

Client required development of a modern infotainment system for vehicles, including advanced GUI design, real-time vehicle data parsing and visualization, functional applications for navigation, HVAC, and media with integrations to vehicle systems through APIs and SDKs:

• Vehicle Data & Navigation: Parse CAN bus messages and compute navigation data (GNSS position, satellite info, DGPS, WAAS) while interfacing with HVAC control APIs.
• Instrument Cluster Display: Provide a full digital dashboard showing speedometer, tachometer, fuel level, battery voltage, odometer, tire pressure, key status, lights, handbrake status, engine warnings, airbag status, etc.
• Infotainment Applications: Develop a modern infotainment UI including a Launcher, Android Auto support, and Media Player, plus Navigation (maps, routing) and HVAC (airflow, temperature) controls within the interface.

The infotainment system is expected to be integrated seamlessly with the vehicle system through APIs and SDKs for displaying vehicle indicators and controlling HVAC & Media.
 

Provide solutions for development and integration to address above required functions:

• Intuitive UI Development: Designed and implemented a responsive graphical interface for the infotainment system using QML/Qt Quick, delivering smooth animations and clear visuals.
• SYNC Platform Integration: Built and deployed custom applications on the vehicle’s SYNC infotainment system framework, ensuring compatibility with the car’s native software environment.
• CAN Bus & Navigation Integration: Developed parsers for CAN data to feed the instrument cluster and compute navigation parameters; integrated GNSS/DGPS/WAAS services for precise positioning and routing.
• Connected Services: Integrated APIs and SDKs for media playback, Android Auto connectivity, phone and Bluetooth services, as well as speech-recognition functionality, enabling voice commands and seamless multimedia.
• HVAC Control: Implemented digital HVAC controls in the UI, allowing real-time adjustment of airflow and temperature based on user input and sensor data.
